Chrasteková was born in a virgin undomesticated part of Slovakia. In her childhood she danced in an ethnic group and from the age of 14 she became an international supermodel. Today she is a video artist creating in Prague.

Her life, swinging between the bucolic and metropolitan, restrained and extravagant, the unpolished and pretentiously sophisticated, between the original and the tamed, between fierceness and fantasia, innocent and cunning, between the natural and the made-up, is the inspiration for these films.

Meticulously and in crisp precision she chisels the spiritual state of someone living a bipolar life. Chrasteková uses modernism’s aspiration to correct, optimize, rejuvenate and fix the technique to describe the beauty, freshness and nature’s wild magic.

Chrasteková has developed a unique style surprisingly utilizing high-resolution photographic technology, electrifying soundtrack and loose plot, enabling the spectator to inject his insights into it. The photography is so eloquent, that the images seem sharper than the human eye. Every shot has its distinct theme, composition, esthetic, and rhythm. The scenario is slow, Zen-like, stimulating the spectator to notice every wind-gust, flutter, gasp, snowflake settling on the ground.

The films’ soundtrack is composed of a reading of her poems, recordings of a desperate child leaving her busy mother messages marking daily events, room sounds conveying drama, growling, cries and whispers that it seems that behind the camera documenting a sublime landscape is located an animal with sharp hearing grasping events beyond what the eye sees.

In her films, Chrasteková encourages the spectator to see beyond the beauty, curb the passion, and suppress the flaming, pay attention! Because the beast is nearby.
