 אודות התערוכה 

הנוף הנו סביבת האדם המידית. תפיסתה או הגדרתה העצמית של כל תרבות מושפעת מיחסיה עם סביבתה הטבעית או ממעשי ידיה. הנוף המופיע באמנות יכול לתפקד כסימן בעל משמעות והשלכות אידיאולוגיות, לאומיות ופוליטיות. ייצוגי הנוף יכולים ללמד אותנו על אופני ההתייחסות לרעיונות המסומלים על ידי מקומות.

דימויים של נוף מהווים מדיום של המרה בין האנושי לטבעי ובין העצמי לאחר. הנוף המצויר/ המצולם מתאר תהליך שבאמצעותו מתכוננות זהויות חברתיות או סובייקטיביות.
נופים אינם רק רקע להתרחשויות, אלא מתפקדים כ”הירוגליפים” המסגירים סדר חברתי מסוים. במובן זה האמנים מכתיבים את גבולות המרחב הוירטואלי באמצעות הציור והמצלמה שלהם. הם מתעדים לא רק את התצורה הפיזית של המקום, אלא גם את התת מודע האופטי שלו.

התערוכה הקבוצתית בגלריה “צדיק” מציגה אינטרפרטציות של אמנות עכשווית בישראל לנושא הנוף ותוהה מה נתפש כמחוזות חפץ עכשוויים. כיוון שמקומות מתפקדים כגורמים מתקשרים, למשל, מקומות מסוימים נקשרים אסוציאטיבית עם נושאים מסוימים, התערוכה מספקת הצצה אל מחוזות החפץ של האמנים המשתתפים: חלקם חוזרים אל מחוזות ילדותם, אחרים הופכים את בד הקנבס או המצע עליו הם עובדים למחוז חפץ כשלעצמו: עולם של פנטזיה קורם עור וגידים מול הצופים. כמה מהאמנים יוצרים מעין שילוב בין מקומות גיאוגרפיים למקומות בדויים. אחרים מתמקדים ברכיב קטן במרחב ומרחיבים אותו ואמנים אחרים מתעדים את מרחב ההווה.

 About the exhibition 

Landscape reflects the human being’s immediate environment, and the first reference of all cultures. Every culture refers to itself through an examination of its relationship with its immediate surroundings. Landscape also functions as a sign with ideological, social and political meanings, enabling the viewer to learn about attitudes to ideas which are symbolized by locales.

The space and imagery of the landscape act not only as background to events, but function as a kind of hieroglyphics which reveal a certain social order. In this sense, the artists dictates the limits of the virtual space by means of the painting or the camera documenting not only the physical paradigm of the locale, but also its optical subconscious.

The group exhibition in the Tzadik Gallery presents contemporary Israeli art’s interpretations of landscape and asks what are destinations to be desired.
Since places come with attendant associations, the exhibitions provides a glimpse into the desired destinations of the participating artists: some return of their childhood places, others turn the canvass into a desired destination in itself, a world of fantasy that acquires shape in front of the spectator’s gaze. There are those that create a fusion of a geographical location and a make-believe world. Others focus on a small detail in the landscape and expand on it, while others document current space.
