The home Egozi builds in the gallery space lacks architectural definition. It is a conceptual paraphrase of the poet Gibran Kahlil Gibran’s line: “Your home is your larger body”. Egozi’s home is an abstract space, free and wild inviting rioting: lacking rooms, un-organized, no-hierarchy and storyless.
A random ink stain, a piece of masking tape, an unexpected bump in a sheet of paper, texture of a tile, are handles to the drawing series. As the process progresses, they become a safe place providing Egozi a safe place protecting her from the lurking evil, from hostile invasion of her conscience, from the reality. The ink’s features as a dodgy fluid, uncontrollable, random, easily absorbed, let Egozi flow with her conscience, express freedom, fanaticize and follow the substance captive.
“Soldiers make peace”, a series of disarmed toy soldier statuettes, wrapped and repainted, with just their tiny hands extended in a gesture of peace, is yet another layer in the imaginary home Egozi builds. The weapon carriers in battle posture are wrapped in masking-tape or coated in wax as if heralding a legendary apocalypse, an allegory to the quiet Egozy requests for her shelter seeking spirit.

A wooden chair, a frilled table or bowl, home utensils, are converted into magic when Egozi takes them out of their realistic context and uses them as statue platforms. The chair tumbles over, the table becomes a field and the bowl overflows with wax to generate fantastic-aesthetic heart-captivating scenes devoid of narrative.
The home in this exhibition is the subject, expression and peeking hole into Egozi’s conscience.
